Finally! A Blog!   (13 comments) ♥

It's been a couple of days since I've had time to blog. My free time currently consists of taking an online .net class, running on the stupid treadmill, and don't even get me started on all that has to be done for Kayla's birthday and the upcoming holidays. For the record, I'm not a big fan of Christmas. All the shopping, the crowds, the pine needles everywhere, people decorating before it's even Thanksgiving (and I KNOW some of you are totally guilty of that last one!)... it's just not for me. I find myself stressed out more than I find myself filled with cheer.

Bah Humbug I say!

There was also that other thing going on, you know, the thing I couldn't talk about before? Well I can finally I can let you guys in on the "secret"...

I got a NEW job!!

After 3 interviews, a test, and a bunch of stress, I was given a verbal offer for the job last Wednesday. I may be starting as soon as November 30th, but I still have to wait for the official paperwork to come in the mail. I'm excited! The work sounds fun, as well as challenging, the office is closer to home, and I'll get to write programs for some pretty great clients. Everything about the position is a plus and I'm really looking forward to starting.

The kids.... well they aren't as enthusiastic. They've gotten used to me being home all the time and they'd like to keep it that way. But, with today's world, it's hard to keep a household running on just one income. Especially our household. Sure I enjoyed my stint as a stay at home mom, but to be honest, it's not what I'd want to do forever. It will be really nice to have more adult interaction during the day. I know, I say that now, and on my first day I'll be bawling my eyes out crying about how "I miss my baaaaabies!!! Waaah!! I want my girls!!" I know myself, I'm sure it will be bitter sweet.

Back to work, my "mini-vacation" is officially coming to an end.

I am very proud of you for getting the first job that you applied for! Your smart, like I have been telling you. I know you will kick butt and yes the kids will have to get over not having mommy at home, but its either mommy works or they do!

OH Jen!! Congrats! That IS good news. It'll be hard for all of you the first couple days, but everyone will get back into their own groove. And I'm with you, being with the kids is nice...but I definitely preferred working outside of the house. I think it helped me retain a little of my sanity. Yes! I do still have some!

If I don't talk to you before then, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and fun birthday party!

Congrats! That's really awesome. You know that all I write all day long is C# .Net code, right? So you who to ask if you ever need any help ;-)

I'm totally guilty of decorating before Thanksgiving for Christmas. To be fair, I also decorate for Thanksgiving before Halloween though. This year, my excuse is that I'm due with baby boy soon so clearly I have to get the decorations up early before I'm too sleep deprived to care what our place looks like:)

Congrats on the job!!!

I just KNEW it!! I had a feeling....lol. well I'm very super excited for you and it sounds like an awesome fit!

Kids will adjust, so don't worry about that. I like Roodee's comment - either mommy works, or the kids do. I'm sooo stealing that one. hahaha

PS - I'm glad to see i'm not the ONLY one who doesn't really care for xmas. Never did understand why all the hype; it's not even about celebrating what it was to start with, it's all about presents and junk. i don't care how many times i hear people say it's about the giving not the getting...I still see that butt-hurt look on thier face because they didn't get what they wanted. I just shake my head. Someone here at work played a prank and sent out a fake email from the bosses computer that said i need your xmas list by wednesday and it's a 30.00 limit. I thought it odd and didn't respond right away, and when the email came out saying it was just a joke, dont send or stop sending your lists, this one broad made such a stink over it! i was like....are you serious? she was all...well some people just get thier hopes up and it wasn't funny and i was really looking forward to getting a present....just wanted to smack her and say grow up you're not 2. ergh.

okay, rant over. have a great holiday!!

I would love to stay at home. However, like you, finances won't allow it. Plus, I do enjoy the adult conversation and seeing projects through start-to-finish. You're never really "done" with laundry.
