Work Experience   Programmer / Web Developer, Crucible Service Centers
April 2002 - October 2009
  • Design and programming for district websites worldwide including;
    www.crucibleservice.com, www.crucibleresearch.com, www.cruciblecompaction.com, www.crumetals.com, www.crusteel.co.uk
  • Programming and integration of a companywide MRO purchasing application. This system centralized the company’s databases and replaced over 10 individual servers that were used to run the previous MRO legacy program.
  • Programming and integration of a Time Entry application that allows various district offices to enter time cards for their employees. The system is designed to automatically calculate overtime, double-time, and all other union mandated hour categorizations. At the end of each pay period the data is converted to a CSV file and employee hours are imported into the central payroll system.
  • Programming and integration of the company's intranet. This includes an extensive expense report system, employee directory, grievance log, discipline log, inventory lookup, mill equipment log, IT hardware and software logs, commodity code maintenance, safety endorsement form generation, monthly supervisor safety surveys, export inquiry and export order log systems.
  • Programming and integration of a customer access system that allows customers to order steel, check inventory levels, look up heat numbers, view current steel certifications, view invoices, and run customized reports.
  • Designed, purchased, and managed the installation of a Polycom VSX8000 video conference system. The system allows for bridging of up to 4 locations and works in conjunction with a Creston touch panel display. This saved the company thousands of dollars a year in travel and third-party video conferencing costs.
  • Design and programming for an online steel purchasing system. The system accepts all major credit cards.
  • Interface with the clients to gather and design requirements.
  • Development and maintenance of all applications is done by utilizing ColdFusion 8, JavaScript, Report Builder, HTML, DHTML, Flash, and Advantage Databases.

  • Development of ScheduleFM, a dynamic facility scheduling software application that provides facility managers, school administrators, and recreation coordinators comprehensive scheduling, billing, and reporting capabilities.
  • Development and maintenance is done by utilizing ColdFusion 8, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, Flash, and SQL Server 2000 database.

  • Developed an Intranet for Syracuse's Oncenter.
