Madelyn Was Born!!

Madelyn Rose Suarez was born!! Her due date was Labor day (September 5th), but she arrived 3 days early on September 2nd.

Birth Date: 09/02/2011
Birth Time: 2:23 am
Birth Weight: 8 lbs 9 oz
Length: 20 inches
Head: 34.5 cm

I had been having a lot of Braxton Hicks/false labor for over a week. It was getting really frustrating! Real labor started around 2:30am Thursday, September 1st. We stayed home and did a lot of walking to make sure it was the real thing. Later that day I was admitted into the hospital at 5cm dilated. Little baby Maddie was born at 2:23am the next morning.

I took a ton of photos but of course they are still on my camera (along with hundreds of other photos I've taken this summer!) but here are a few I took off so you can meet our new addition:

Everyone is doing really great. The girls are excited about having a new little sister and Rudy and I are enjoying having a little one in the house again. I forgot how adorable they are at this age (even though sleep is limited!)

Guess Who Lost Her First Tooth!

Today Kayla lost her first tooth!!

It's been wiggly for a few days now and Rudy tried a couple of times to wiggle it out using dental floss but Kayla kept getting freaked out and made him stop wiggling it. Finally after one failed attempt earlier this evening she asked Rudy to try again and it popped right out! (And into Rudy's shoe LOL)

She's much happier now that it's out and I hear the tooth fairy gives $5 for the first tooth.

One of the questions I hear frequently is "How are you doing?". When people ask an 8 month pregnant woman how she's doing there are 2 possible outcomes. There's the polite response, and the honest response.

My polite response is "Oh, doing pretty good. A little tired and the heat has been tough, but overall things are going well"

...aaaand the honest response:

How am I doing? Well I'll tell you how I'm doing. I feel fat. Not just a little pudgy fat, not just pregnant fat, but fat fat. Like the old lady who swallowed a cow fat. Sitting in one position too long is uncomfortable. So I have to get up and walk around. But after walking around for a few minutes I'm uncomfortable again and I need to sit back down. Up down, up down... it's like being stuck in mass all day, but with less kneeling and no wine.

I have lost the ability to put on my own socks and tie my own shoes. I'm like a helpless 2 year old. If I can't slip it on my bare foot, I ain't wearing it and if I have to bend down there's a darn good chance I'm going to need help getting back up. Speaking of feet, mine are so swollen that they look like muffin tops popping out of a baking pan. That's right, the tops of my feet are rising like friggen dough over here. And my toes? They look like the love child of Lit'l Smokies and Ballpark Franks. They plump when you cook em! Except no one cooked them, they are just plump.

Moving upward we reach my cankles. And honestly, calling them cankles is a compliment. They are more like ham hocks, or maybe one of those giant turkey legs you can buy at the renaissance fair. And trust me, calling them either is doing them more justice than they deserve. Then there's my thighs.... oh lord my thighs. Where did these things come from?? They are as wide as a couple of redwood trees and to make things worse, the cellulite is so bad that it looks like I took a 36 hour nap in a gravel pit. Oh and let's not forget the chub rub. That's right I said CHUB RUB. If I ever get lost it the woods and need a campfire a I'll just run around for a few minutes and my pants will spontaneously combust from all the friction. Alright, that's an exaggeration. I'm not doing any running, come on now.

My tummy, well I'm actually pleased with my tummy. I'm really lucky and I've never had too many problems with stretch marks. My belly button has popped which looks a little weird, but, as I mentioned in a previous blog, I got a free piece of bacon out of the deal so I'm not complaining. My boobs, well add them to the happy pile. They've grown a full cup size. That's right baby, I'm sporting a full A cup over here! For a woman that barely fills out a training bra, this is a big deal. A big, wonderful deal. They look great but don't you DARE touch them. They hurt and there's a chance milk will leak everywhere if you do. Sure, that's a downside for my husband. It's like owning a Ferrari but not being allowed to drive it. But hey I don't care. OWNING the Ferrari is enough for me. Besides it eventually gets repoed by the boob fairy anyway, and trust me, she's one mean bitch. Sometimes she's takes away more than she gave, and if that happens, my chest is going to be inverted. I'm gonna be sporting a couple of cup holders over here. 2 big gulps please!

The chubby arms and chubby face are a given so I do my best to avoid mirrors whenever possible. When I wash my hands in the bathroom I don't bother to look up into the mirror. Face down. Soap, water, scrub. dry and done. For the most part that works well. That is until I get home after working all day and my husband tells me there's a bunch of poppy seeds stuck in my teeth. Oh great! I ate that everything bagel around 8am! Ok, so maybe looking in the mirror a little more often would be a good idea. Or maybe avoiding everything bagels would be better.

And don't get me started on this heat. My husband is hot blooded and this little Mexican jumping bean inside of me is like an internal space heater. Combine that with the recent heat wave and no central air... well let's just say it ain't pretty. Have you ever had the pleasure of being in the presence of a hot, sweaty, fat, cranky, pregnant woman? No??! Well really you should ask my husband if he'd like to trade places with you for a little while. You know how a cartoon character takes off so fast that it leaves a puff of smoke behind? Well I guarantee you there's Rudy shaped puff of smoke about to appear if you actually dare to offer to trade places.

I'm sore, my back hurts, my feet hurt, I'm sweaty, I'm hooooooot. WAAAAH!!! How am I doing??!!! HOW AM I DOING????

The Little Things

You know, one great thing about being pregnant is that at the end of the pregnancy I get the opportunity to do something amazing. Something some women only dream of doing. Somehow my body knows what to do all on it's own. It blossoms and I am blessed when finally, after all the months of waiting, a beautiful thing emerges. To call it something other than a miracle would diminish it's value.

So I want to take a moment to acknowledge this life changing event that only a woman, pregnant, and brimming with life can experience....

The ability to clean to the bottom of her belly button!

It's a miracle people!! I've officially "popped" and I'm seeing parts of my button that I haven't seen in almost.... how old is Kayla now?.... FIVE years! When it started popping out I'm pretty sure a piece of bacon fell out. At first I thought my stomach had sprung a leak or that maybe my body was spontaneously creating bacon now. Heck in a few more weeks I'll be making milk, why not bacon??? But no such luck... it was just leftovers from breakfast.

Yup... it's a damn miracle I tell ya.

So I was thinking to myself.... "Gee, it's been a while since I posted photos on this website. Hmmmm I wonder how far behind I am?"

So I started looking at all the photos I haven't gotten around to yet... and um... well they start with this:

It's almost JUNE and I still have pictures of the kids playing in the SNOW that I haven't posted!??!??!! OK, This is beyond slacking. This is pathetic, this has moved into the realm of giving up. We are talking total and complete abandonment of this site. If this website were a living breathing person, CPS would have taken it away from me months ago due to severe neglect.

There's only one thing that can be said about this.

21 Weeks Pregnant

Happy Easter everyone! I have so many photos to show you but alas, I haven't had time to post them. I have to get the photos from my birthday, Rudy's birthday, and Easter posted! So much has been going on. Did I tell you we bought a new car? Well actually it's a minivan. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. I own a minivan. And not only that, but I LOOOOOVE it. Yeah, I just said I love my minivan. God I'm getting old. Next thing you know I'll be raving about my fancy new walker with the bright yellow tennis balls attached to the feet.

This mini van is pretty sweet though. It's a 2011 Town and Country, Touring L. It's got heated leather seats, DVD screens, a backup camera, remote start, dual climate control, rain sensing wipers, and all sorts of other cool gadgets. I know... I know... I never thought I could love a minivan, but I really do!

21 weeks

So hiding inside that belly is ANOTHER girl!! That's right, another girl Suarez will be joining the clan. Poor Rudy, even our two cats are girls! He is SO outnumbered!!!!

The baby is doing really well though and we've already picked a name, Madelyn Rose. I love it and I can't wait to meet our little Maddie soon! But to be honest, I can't believe my pregnancy is already 1/2 over. It's kind of bittersweet considering this is our last baby. *sigh* I'm enjoying every last kick and squirm though. Before we know it the baby will be here.

*cough* *cough* My gosh, the dust on this website is thick!! *pulls away the cobwebs* It's like no one lives here anymore! What's going on? I go off and get knocked up and you never hear from me. I'm like that bad friend that just leaves you hanging... never writes, never calls, and can't even find time to send you a quick text.

Well I have no excuses other than I'M BUSY MAKING LIFE OVER HERE! OK that's actually a pretty shitty excuse. Downright lame. *sigh* Well, it's all I got so here's a new belly photo:

My belly is getting rounder! Right after taking this photo I weighed myself. Note to self, stay off the darn scale. Did you know I'm already up to 151 lbs?! Let's PRETEND I didn't start out at 130 and have ALREADY gained 21 of the 30 lbs I'm supposed to gain over the ENTIRE pregnancy. To be honest, this is probably the last time I'm going to be pregnant so I'll admit, I've been enjoying it. That includes indulging in almost every craving. *blush* Oh well, you only live once right?

Man this place is really going down the tubes isn't it? And to think of all the great stories I have to tell you.... like last weekend I ate SO much bacon that I woke up with a bacon hangover. There were baskets of bacon scattered throughout the house, I couldn't take decent pictures because they were all coming out blurry (I realized later that my lens was covered in bacon grease) and I even had this amazing bacon jalapeno ice cream that totally twisted up my brain. The cold ice cream, the hot jalapeno... how is my tounge frozen and on fire all at once?!?!?! It's boggling I tell ya!!

My belly has officially popped!

(12 weeks 2 days pregnant)

Everything is going really well. I've had very little morning sickness and overall I feel really good. I'm hoping this is a sign that the baby is a boy! I'll be just as pleased with a girl of course, but yeah, a boy would be nice for a change!

I also posted some sonogram pictures. So check out the Family Photos section for those. They were taken a few weeks ago so the baby doesn't look like much more than a smudge and we don't know the gender yet. But it was nice to know everything was going well.

So I have a new gadget I should tell you about. It's called a fetal doppler heartrate monitor. It's a Sonoline B and basically it's similar to an ultrasound machine but instead of seeing pictures of the baby, you can hear the baby's heart beating! It's pretty cool. I use it once a week and let me tell you, it's so reassuring to know the baby is still doing well. Check out the video below...

So yeah, things are going great. I've been obsessed with drinking milk. I can't seem to get enough of it!! I also found out I shouldn't be allowed in the candy aisle alone. Tonight I went to the store for a few things and ended up with a cartful of Easter candy. Sweet-tarts, peanut butter eggs, coconut creme eggs, cadbury creme eggs, mini cadbury creme eggs... OMG I'll admit I went a little (ok a lot) nuts. And I'll also admit I'm sitting here sipping milk and chowing candy as I type. LMAO....

Ahhhh... the joys of pregnancy!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so hopefully all these new photos I've been posting will make up for my severe lack of blogging.

I posted my first belly picture of baby Suarez #2 and I also posted New Years 2011 photos.

Dare I say it??? I'm actually up to date on all my photos. *WHOA*

Things with the pregnancy have been going great. So well in fact that it's making me a little nervous. I have no morning sickness and I haven't been very tired either. I'm only six weeks along so it's still very early... but hey, I'm not complaining (yet)

My pregnant baby mush brain has already started taking affect. Last week we went out to dinner and about 1/2 way through I realized I was wearing my slippers!! Hubby assured me it was fine since my feet were under the table and no one could see them. My kids however demanded to know why Mommy got to wear slippers out but they didn't. LOL!! Overall it was pretty funny.

Next Monday is my first official doctor appointment and (I think) sonogram. We are really excited. It helps to have everything checked out and confirmed as A-OK. It'll put my mind at ease ya know?

I hope you all are doing well and I'll be back soon to post our first sonogram photo!

Rudy and I have been trying for a few months to get pregnant. As luck would have it, this month, Christmas day was when I could take my next test. I was so excited when 2 little pink lines appeared!!! I must admit, this is the best present I've ever gotten for Christmas.

So I decided to sit and work on the pictures that need to be posted and I realized... I have photos from back in August that I haven't gotten to! What the heck??! I'm THAT far behind??? I haven't even posted Andy's 40th birthday photos. What a disgrace. Not only that but I also realized that I have a broken link on my main Family Photos page. The one that is supposed to go to Yuna's first day of school? Well it was clicking off to the world of 404. Why didn't anyone tell me this place was in such shambles?

I hope everyone has a great Halloween!

Funny story about Yuna's dragon pumpkin... when we first cut it out we (and when I say *we* I mean RUDY) made a mistake and ended up cutting out too much. So we tried fixing it and thankfully in the end it turned out pretty good. I took a bunch of photos and then Rudy realized after seeing a few on my flickr page that he had forgotten to carve out one of the dragon's talons. It wouldn't be that big of a deal but with the shape of the talon and there only being ONE... well there's no nice way to say this so I'm just gonna say it. The dragon looked like it had a large penis.

*blush*

So Rudy carved out another talon and now it looks like the dragon has two..... talons ;-)

Six Years Old and Starting 2nd Grade

I can't believe it's already back to school time!!

Yuna started second grade today and even though she's gone to daycare since she was 6 weeks old and she has been going to public school for a few years now I still get all choked up on her first day. I watched her bus drive off today and she happened to sit on the opposite side of the road from me so I didn't get to see her as I waved goodbye. Let me tell you I was holding back the tears. Then as I got in my car to drive off to work I couldn't help it, my eyes brimmed with tears.

I'm such a wuss about watching her move on to another stage in life. I don't think the sad feeling of having to let your children leave (if only for the school day) ever goes away. In fact I'm 9000% sure I'm going to bawl my eyes out the day she leaves for college. So yeah...

I took photos of course so check them out! She looked ADORABLE. This year she was all about the color blue. Blue shoes, blue shirt, blue stars on her jeans.... and don't tell her I wrote this, but *whispers* she even wore blue underwear LOL!

I know I'm really far behind on blogging and on posting photos. I have to apologize to those of you that are (were?) regular readers. Life has been busy and I just haven't put aside the time to keep in touch with everyone. I want you all to know that life is going great though. My new job is still wonderful, I've got a new tattoo, we've been enjoying the new Harley, spending lots of time relaxing with friends and family, and are even considering expanding our little family again. Life is good and I'm really thankful for all we have. I hope you are all doing well and haven't forgotten about me and my little space on the internet. Please to keep in touch... hopefully as the weather turns cooler and I find myself stuck inside more often I'll get in front of this computer and start blogging again.
