WOW this has been quite the month for celebrity deaths. Earlier this month David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok. Ed Mcmahon died a few days ago. Yesterday Farrah Fawcett succumbed to cancer and then, hours later, Michael Jackson died of a heart attack. Let me say it again,
WOW
Yes, people die everyday. Important people like our soldiers defending our freedom in Iraq. I don't mean to play down the death of anyone else, but to hear that Michael Jackson died... well I don't care who you are. If you are over the age of 20, you had to be a little stunned. Michael Jackson. Michael, friggen, JACKSON. DEAD! A man who grew up poor and abused in Gary Indiana (only blocks from my Husband's grandparents home), turned into a pop icon, got tangled up in a web of plastic surgery, accused of wrong doings with little boys, and hid himself away in a perpetual play land called Neverland.
His whole story was riveting. It was very much the train wreck that you couldn't tear your eyes away from. Whether you loved him or hated him, you knew who he was.
I wanted to share some facts about Michael with you today, but truth be told, you are all guaranteed to be overloaded with MJ facts for the next few days. So instead I invite you to leave your own memories of him. What songs were your favorites? Did you love him? Did you hate him? Are you already overloaded from the coverage of MJ? Do you think Farrah Fawcett is standing with him right now saying "You just HAD to steal my thunder didn't ya?"
Regardless of your thoughts of him he's going to be talked about A LOT. In fact, my husband wanted to have sex last night, but I told him he should go beat it in honor of Michael Jackson.
